Alex Percival started The Nairobi Art Centre in 2006 with two partners, Larisa Sjeords and Debbie Chamberlain Shah. Alex trained as a graphic artist in Canada and specialises in animation, fantasy art & illustration in mixed media.
She has been living in Nairobi for 14 years working in interior consulting specialising in wall finishes and murals, and is now running the Centre full-time and working on her illustrated book. She is married and lives in Hurlingham and has 2 boys, 15 and 17 and two step children, also boys aged 16 and 18.
Migael Andesha: Our Centre Manager has been with us from our inception, always on duty to deal with your booking equiries and questions.
Arty PartyTeam:
Our enthusiastic and talented team are carefully chosen for the proficiency they can offer to the children and are either practising Artists, Art students recruited from colleges, teachers or teaching assistants from local schools. We are fully insured. Our team members are checked and have plenty of experience in working with children.
For the Younger ones:
Co-Founder Debbie Shah designs the programs for the 4-6 year old children – she works with the team to produce a fabulous workshop.
For the Older ones:
Alex Percival designs the programs for this age-group drawing on her experience and creativity, working with the whole team to deliver a program packed with innovative and exciting ideas.
